n*e*r*d's 'seeing sounds' out today!!

Artist: N*E*R*D
Album: Seeing Sounds
Release Date: Tuesday, June 10, 2008

if you are a true n.e.r.d. fan like me, you need to get 10 bucks, go to best buy, and buy this fucking album!! it's amazing!! if i have to relate it to their previous album's, it's like ...in search of improved. it's that true fusion of rock and hip hop and has that total neptunes/n.e.r.d. touch. i'm so excited for this album and most likely will be listening to it all day. it's crazy b/c i got scared for a moment. apparently, this album leaked last week. people got it and said it was whack or too different. i beg to differ and say it is quite the contrary. it is so true to them, just improved. while fly or die is still my first of the three, seeing sounds is most definately number 2 with a possiblity of taking the top spot. here are my stand out tunes:

#4-Anti Matter- this is my joint! it's that grimey stomping/hood hip hop with so much rock roll [and if you don't know, that me all day!]. it's got a nice ass little hook. pharrell is rapping. this is what i would say is a new sound for n.e.r.d. but they are still uber apparent. i loves it.

#8-Happy- feeling good, riding down the street or taking a jog? play this track. it's so mellow, chill. makes me feel real good. this is mos def reminiscent of ...in search of.

#10-Love Bomb- this song reminds me of why i am in love with pharrell williams. he's so socially aware of everything. and when he puts it over a tight ass beat, it's magic.

so, yeah. that's my album review. go get this album. it's a great summer playist addition. and even if you don't know who n.e.r.d. is and missed out on the previous two albums, you'll still get them on this one.

go get it tigers!!!

leslie feist v. technology

l.a. and i went to see feist on fri., 4/18. luckily, it was a very nice evening. the concert was outside. this was really exciting b/c for one, i had never been to an outdoor concert, and two, everyone smoked! so i could pully out my fag w/ no shame, light it up and blow! any how, the opening act was this canadian singer named hayden. he was alright. a good amount of his songs were slow, and that's not really my groove. i wiki-ed this guy, turns out he is 37! l.a. thought he was cute though.

so after 45 minutes of mellow [not in real life, more like slow ass] tunes, feist and technology went at it. the concert viewers, including l.a. and i, waited a little over AN HOUR so that feist could show her shillouette for one minute to open her show. after the war [in which she declares technology won], she put on a nice show, performing one of my favorite old songs of her's, mushaboom! check out feist and her lp the reminder.

stoopid

so i was sitting and listening to old cd because hp sucks big ones and i still have no computer, which also means no itunes. anyways, i was listening to maria mena, and although her voice is nice and her songs are good, i really started listening to the words and i came to a conclusion: girl is stoopid!

i mean wtf...if the guy says he doesnt love you, dont call him, he's a jackass and move on! this is not a cd to empower girls to be anything but desperate to a guy....but then again....i listened to it...and ive realized...ive done some of the stoopid crap she has done, im still continually doing and continually thinking the same stoopid crap she is doing and thinking...

maybe this is why i havent been able to pull this cd out of my computer for two weeks now...even though it only has like 12 songs, you'd think i'd be sick of them now, but everytime i listen to it, i find some stoopid thing to relate to and want to listen to it again....now im not sayin this album is off the chain and you should go cop that shit...i mean its good, but its not like bangin

But is has some kind of meaning to me for some kind of reason and i cant put it down, so if you can go listen to it...and see if you have done some of the stoopid ass stuff she has done

i mean we are stoopid at some points in our lives, our only hope is that we can just learn from it and move on, or we can think about it all day long and let it rot in our brain....watever you choose...aren't i ms. optimistic?

some people have REAL problems/for lovers, dreamers, & me

we're on spring break. we decided to stay in atlanta [initially b/c i thought i could get my car down here, but that was a no-go]. but we found things to do this week, the best being attending two spectacular concerts!

on mar.10, l.a., memphis, and i attended sia's [see-uh] concert. chick is uh-may-zeeng! her songs are like, super mellow, but when performed live, she blows! and as far as her personality, it's really bright. she's like, funny, and sometimes she has these retard tendancies, but they're funny. she's the cutest thing [this drunk lady behind us agreed]. oh, and hallmark superstar opened for her. you gotta check out the pic.

that following wed., mar 12, l.a. and i made it to the vinyl to see alice smith perform. she's smaller than i thought and her voice is super strong. l.a. said she had a nina simone thing going on, but i kind of get a chrisette vibe for some reason. she performed my fav. [love endeavor] as the encore!! and l.a. wanted her shirt.

i found love tonight

and it feels soooo good

so, in the auc, pretty much every thrusday, unless fusion has a performance, there is a wonderful event called "poetry night" at the jazzman's cafe. it is a showcase of many poets, singers, rappers, and preachers from the auc or atlanta area.

well, tonight, february 28th, 2008, i feel in love with an artist.

he's a singer, with a kray-z voice, and feel-good music.

he goes by the name of kameron corvet.

i will not be stingy. i must share my new found love.

song of the moment: "kiss and makeup" by kameron corvet

i like this song

So she tells her man "lets go fishin"
Well go tommorow morning when the sun rise..
And then she says she wants to take her kids and
Thats her boy thats 12 and her daughter thats 4 with angel eyes
So they get there and the sun has barely risen
Decided on a spot where the fish is plentiful with the tide
Get out their poles daddy smiles and said the fish is jumpin
Then they heard a splash but it sounded bigger than fish size
12 yr old screams mom
And mom screams back
The baby was holdin your arm
Well that was 30 seconds ago
So they jumped in
All comin up with nothin
But then...
Something told mom to look toward the light
But the sun wasn't yellow
It had turned white
So she listen and swam
She swam for the light
Like the Michelin man
She swam with such might
She spotted the baby
And she was on her back
Just as the light said "Sunrise was Heaven's track"
She turned the baby over her eyes were still blue
Baby had a smile and said...
"I was waitin for you!"
Mom I was waitin for you!
